Two Month Baby Shots

I hate shots! It takes a strong person that can stick these little babies with shot after shot while they cry. It breaks my heart. Luckily, I did not have to go when Makenna got her two month shots Friday. Chris took our baby to get her shots. He said she was a trooper through the whole thing. He was playing with her to distract her while they did the shots and for the first three her little bottom lip would quiver and she would give him a funny look but then go back to laughing and playing with him. But the fourth one was more than she could take. She began wailing and didn't stop until she arrived back home, at which point she promptly fell asleep.

Saturday was a very bad day for Makenna (and Mommy). She felt sick all day and every moment that she was awake she was groaning or crying or whimpering. I spent the entire day holding her and rocking her in the rocking chair. She would wake up and eat then go right back to sleep. We did nothing all day but rock, eat, and sleep.

First Day Back to Work

Well, today was my first day back to work and the longest I have ever been away from Makenna. I left her this morning at 8:00 and did not get back home until 6:30 pm. I missed her terribly. I took a picture of her face and made it my desktop picture on my work computer so that it would feel like I was looking at her all day. Sometimes this made it harder for me to concentrate on work but I never got tired of looking at her beautiful, smiling face. Here is the picture I have on my computer - how could you ever look away?

Cousin Darcy's 1st B-Day

Makenna went to her cousin Darcy Sage's first birthday party today. As it seems with all family outings lately, there were almost more children than there were adults.

This is Darcy with her mom and dad, Anna and Jeromy, opening her presents. She got the hang of the presents very quickly and started looking to see what was inside each one.

Kaylee and Paige each took turns holding Makenna. She was enthralled with each one and seemed to know not to wiggle too much.

Cousin Lily found a sandpit and it seemed like she found sand for the first time. She was having a blast!

Darcy was all over the chocolate cake she had all to herself. She was being very careful not to get too messy, so her mom had to help her out a bit.

But, of course, Makenna was out before the party was over.
